My ALL-TIME NFL team

April 14, 2009
People ask me all the time, in your opinion who's the best at so-and-so position? It makes for good sports talk and your bound to have some biases in some people no matter who you root for. So here's my 1st and 2nd team All-time. Also, i'm omitting active players in this because they could improve. It's better to just wait until their careers are over.

1st team offense
QB: Joe Montana, San Fran/KC
RB: Jim Brown, Cleve
RB: Barry Sanders, Det
WR: Jerry Rice, SF
WR: Cris Carter, Minn
TE: Shannon Sharpe, Den (once Gonzalez is done, likely he will be here)
T: Anthony Munoz, Cincy
T: Ron Yary, Minn
G: John Hannah, NE
G: Gene Upshaw, Oak
C: Mike Webster, Pit/KC
Defense
DE: Reggie White, Phi/GB/Car
DT: Joe Greene, Pit
DT: Alan Page, Minn
DE: Bruce Smith, Buf
LB: Lawrence Taylor, NYG
LB: Mike Singletary, Chi
LB: Dick Butkus, Chi
CB: Deion Sanders, Atl/SF/Dal/Balt
CB: Rod Woodson, Pit/Oak/SF/Balt
SS: Ronnie Lott, SF
FS: Paul Krause, Minn/Wash
K: Morten Andersen, Atl

2nd team
QB: John Elway, Den
RB: Walter Payton, Chi
RB: Emmitt Smith, Dal
WR: Lance Alworth, SD/Oak
WR: Michael Irvin, Dal
TE: Kellen Winslow, SD
T: Dan Dierdorf, StL
T: Art Shell, Oak
G: Mike Munchak, Hou
G: Bruce Matthews, Hou/Ten
C: Dermontti Dawson, Pit
defense
DE: Deacon Jones
DT: Randy White, Dal
DT: Merlin Olsen, LA
DE: Michael Strahan, NYG
LB: Jack Lambert, Pit
LB: Ray Nitschke, GB
LB: Derrick Thomas, KC
CB: Darrell Green, Wash
CB: Dick "Night Train" Lane, Det
S: Willie Wood, GB
S: Larry Wilson, StL
K: Gary Anderson, Pit/Minn/Ten

There you go, let the debating begin. A lot of you may not know who some of these old time players are, look them up. Now, based on some the players who are still playing I'd probably put Brady, Tomlinson, Marvin Harrison, T.O (maybe), Tony Gonzalez, Alan Faneca, Ray Lewis, Troy Polamalu and/or Ed Reed on these lists.

Douchebag of the week #3

April 10, 2009
I know I've been waiting for this newest douchebag the same as you guys have and it's finally here. I'll give you a few hints: he plays football, he's facing gun charges, he's an absolute moron, and he likely will be in jail soon (I know, REALLY narrows it down, huh?)

Of course I'm talking about PLAXICO BURRESS. Had i made this website years ago, he probably would have been my douchebag of the week 3 different times before this one! Now that's impressive. (When he was with the Steelers as a r...

2nd edition of douchebag of the week

March 25, 2009

I had this all decided and wrapped up. I was ready for some good ripping into the Broncos situation. But it all changed yesterday.

My douchebag of the week is...ROGER GOODELL AND COMPANY for passing these insane new rules in the NFL. I have long but an advocator of College football, saying it's just as good as the pro game and i have been bashed a bit for it. Well here we are, college football would NEVER pass these crazyass rules. The NFL is suffering from increased popularity aka more money ...

Top 5 best/worst college football fanbases

March 16, 2009
Here is my list of the top 5 best and worst football fanbases.

The best

1. Nebraska - They pack their house with a sea of red every Saturday. Hell, chances are, they might have packed YOUR HOUSE with a sea of red on a Saturday. Nebraska fans are passionate and support their team. During their spring game every year they get 40k people to come, unbelievable. Also, they are by far the most sportsmanlike and classy college fans I've ever been around.

2. Texas A&M - The "12th man" of college footba...

Top 5 best/worst fanbases in NFL

March 16, 2009

Part of the fascinating things about sports, in my opinion, are the fans. Anyone i engage in a casual conversation with whether it be in person, through email, message boards, etc, i always ask who their teams are. Now the media doesn't brush up on many outlooks of fanbases for fear of demeaning or displeasuring the team's fans. Me? well i can pretty much say the truth. What makes a bad or good fanbase is an open debate to most people, but to me its fan attendence/arrogance/obnoxiousness/know...

1st annual Douchebag of the week!

March 14, 2009
Sitting back thinking of what new idea to bring upon this site and it got me to thinking of having an annual Douchebag of the week. I figure, if your a sports figure that says or does something stupid, you might as well be called out.

Without further ado, my first annual Douchebag of the week is...(drum roll)...ERIC DEVENDORF Guard from Syracuse. Forget douche of the week, this guy might be douchebag of the year. Devendorf's idiotic personna and on and off the court insidents clearly overshad...

Random rants and raves for March 9

March 9, 2009

Obviously, the big story of the weekend surfaced Saturday night when team-destroyer T.O signed with the Bills of all teams. If you had him going to the Bills, chances are you just demolished your monitor with your nose because your lying your ass off. What an odd scenrio, T.O jumps from the most hyped team (Cowboys) to the team nobody talks about outside of the iceberg known as Buffalo (Bills). I actually like the signing. It's low-risk for the Bills (1-year deal) and they had salary cap room...

Best QB of All-time?

March 6, 2009
Ok, I'm starting a new segment where I basically just go off on certain topics of sports. Here's an age old question that always seems to come up in sports conversation: who's the greatest QB of All-time? Personally I hate this topic because it's all opinions from people who don't look at the facts. Unfortunately, any idiot can try to bluff his way through my sports topic and this is no different. Everytime this question of who the greatest QB is comes up, there's always someone who yells "To...
